Gansu Xinyangshao Biotechnology Co Ltd's microbial agents and synthetic biomanufacturing project is a key biopharmaceutical of Pingliang Industrial Park (High-tech Zone).

Invested and developed by Henan Xinyangshao Biotechnology Co Ltd, the project was officially signed during the 30th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair. With a total planned investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($176.5 million), the project covers 500 mu (33.33 hectares) and includes production lines for microbial agents, enzyme preparations, and other products.

The company uses the products and byproducts of Pingliang Guowei Starch Co Ltd as raw materials and employs processes including liquid submerged fermentation, spray drying, and powder blending and packaging to produce feed and fertilizer additives, including alkaline protease.

Its products have become part of the supply chains of leading domestic and international companies, including International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), Shuanghui, and Stanley. In 2025, the company produced 11,400 metric tons of feed additives, generating an industrial output value of 104 million yuan.
