The city has 1.51 million mu (about 100,700 hectares) of apple orchards, producing 2.7 million metric tons of apples annually with an output value exceeding 16 billion yuan. A comprehensive apple supply chain has been established here, with a number of nationally and provincially recognized leading agricultural enterprises equipped with large-scale cold storage and intensive processing capacity that greatly boosts the sector's added value.
