Pingliang Vocational and Technical College is a public higher vocational institution approved by the People's Government of Gansu Province and officially registered with the Ministry of Education.

Established in 2016 through the integration and relocation of four secondary vocational schools in Pingliang, the college has grown into a comprehensive institution dedicated to cultivating high-quality technical and skilled professionals.

Aligned with China's national development strategies and the economic needs of the Shaanxi–Gansu–Ningxia region, the college follows a demand-driven approach to talent development, promotes coordinated disciplinary development and educational reform, and emphasizes quality standards. It offers 39 academic programs and currently has 10,963 students.

Actively supporting the Belt and Road Initiative, the college independently completed a project to develop and implement Laos' national occupational standard for tour guides.  The project successfully passed evaluation by an expert panel from the education bureau of Laos and has been incorporated into the country's national vocational education system.
